Texas AgriLife Blackland Research and Extension Center (BREC), a part of the Texas A&M System, is positively affecting the lives of people in Central Texas and throughout the world. Through innovative investigation, researchers at the Center develop science-based solutions to meet challenges in land, water, climate and energy to enhance environmental quality and preserve natural resources.  These activities affect plant, animal and human environments to sustain and improve our land and water, including those in both rural and urban areas and military installations.  BREC is collaborating with other parts of the Texas A&M System; local, state and federal government agencies; international agencies and private enterprise to evaluate economic and environmental impacts of land management practices.
