Scott & White Memorial Hospital and Clinics
Research is an important part of the Scott & White mission "to provide personalized, comprehensive, high-quality health care enhanced by medical education and research." The results of studies lead directly to improved patient care and serve as intellectual rewards for the investigators and their colleagues.
Although research at Scott & White is a result of its patient care mission and clinical practice heritage, basic laboratory research with potential clinical relevance is also encouraged and supported, especially when conducted in collaboration with Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine basic science faculty colleagues. Recent efforts to expand and enlarge Scott & White's research program have been focused in key areas in which the institution can exert a significant impact on the practice of medicine. Areas receiving emphasis include cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, imaging, metabolism, neuroscience, oncology, toxicology and women's health.
